Xuechao (Jane) Qian
Welcome! I am a Lazear-Liang Postdoctoral Scholar at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
My research areas are labor economics and health economics, with applications to public economics, innovation, and economic history. I use quasi-experimental research designs with large historical and contemporary datasets to conduct research in two broad areas: 1) the training and supply of health care professionals and their effect on population access to care and health outcomes; 2) institutions governing higher education and human capital formation with subsequent effects on science, innovation, and human capital acquisition. My work pays particular attention to issues on underrepresentation, diversity, gender, and children.
